Google’s Nest Renew smart thermostat was devised to help customers take advantage of clean energy, reduce costs, and empower themselves to assist in the green energy revolution. The challenge was helping people understand how green energy was available to them through utilities providers and how it could benefit them. Convincing them to switch over to a new thermostat and upgrade to a premium service was the second hurdle. Working with designers I crafted the copy to accompany a visual and animated journey to both educate and entice customers to take the plunge into using green energy to help offset carbon outputs. We delivered a product that Google used to inform and enroll its audience into using its thermostat and support new technology.
